Dual battery set up Perth

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend someone in Perth (apart from ARB) to assist and install a dual battery set up in 2016 Kakadu.

Look up Fire to Fork on YouTube. He went to a group in Bayswater called Perth Pro Auto parts. I went there to get some bits too. Guys there know what they are doing with a Prado.

Jones cat - I note you have mentioned previously the use of an itechworld lithium120X - did you manage to fit this in the second battery space under bonnet?

You cannot put lithium under the bonnet. They do not like the heat and will kill it. Lithium has to go in the back

Certain Lithium are fine under bonnet. DCS lithium have a 3-5 year warranty with under bonnet installations.

Yes the guys were able to fit it just fine - it required some mods of the tray, but it did fit. Very neat job and recommend them highly. They are also a distributer of iTechworld gear - I also had fitted one of the 40Ah DCDC chargers.

Agree with Piggy, the old lithium can’t go under the bonnet is a bit of a misnomer these days (not all mind you). iTechworld warranty their 120X for 3 years for under bonnet installation. cheers

Ive gone DCS batteries after seeing how the itech batteries were put together. The video of them out the back with the old silicone gun turned me off them for good. Ive also witnessed one being stripped down for a quality check. Again, not for me..

thanks Piggy - the dual hybrid set up does look good given the large capacity with zero weight gain. Is there anyone in Perth who installs these?

Give DCS a call (QLD HQ) they'll have a few installers over there.

Prior to purchasing I did read positives and negatives on the iTech batteries, but it has served me well for over 12 months now. It was selected on a pricing point for the time and I will post a longer term report down the track on its performance.

Yeah couldn't find it . . . don't do FB - guess I will move on and keep on travelling . . .
