How can I tell if I have a JBL amplifier in my 2019 GXL ?

Hi Wiggy,

I may be wrong but thought the amp was only on the 14 speaker premium sound systems in the VX and Kakadu.

But you can check as its the box mounted on the floor under the driver seat.

If it is there you can check model etc via the Service Menu:

• Press ignition switch to get ACC power.
• Press and hold the Audio button on the right side of the head unit.
• Switch the headlight switch from off to on three times.
• Release the audio button and you should get the Service Menu displayed.
• Select Service Information option
• then Version Information on next screen.

You should then see
DCU
DSP-AMP
MEU

Press the Push box next to DSP-AMP and you should see the Unit Version Information screen

Manufacture Name
Version

I was also under the impression it was only on the VX and Kakadus as well.

My 2018 gxl has a pioneer amp under the driver seat. I think everything over the GX get an amp these days, hold audio and turn the Headlights on/off 3 times.
Then follow the steps ptommo posted.
or have a look under the driver seat from the back, if there’s something there with a plastic cover then you have an amp.
