Yesterday, I went to start my 2019 Prado, after it had not been started for about one and a half weeks. A six months service was booked for today and the vehicle was purchased four years ago tomorrow. Well, no start, a dead battery (its original) would not let me get the vehicle out of the garage. A tester showed 9.8V across that battery. Four years from a modern battery is pretty good.
A RACQ roadside assist came with a new battery, and the technician replaced the battery using a his 12V portable battery to keep 12V active during the changeover. Of course, the car started but showed "Check Engine", "Pre Crash Safety Malfunction" and "See Dealer". We did not clear the faults but left them as the service visit was already booked for today. Later, yesterday, I started the vehicle a couple of times and parked the vehicle in front of my residence without driving anywhere else.
After a couple of hours when I went to move the vehicle back into the garage, and surprisingly to me, there were no fault messages on my screen, all clear.
A rep at the dealer said sometimes things can take a while to settle in again.
Anyway, just thought that I would post my recent experience in case others had something similar.
