I have an interesting problem.2010 prado manual diesel.
I was driving when suddenly lost power and all lights on dash came on, 4lo flashing etc. I thought alternator, it re-started and drove a few hundred meters before stopping again.
Dash light does not come on when lights on, unless ignition on. when ignition on condenser fan cuts in and out briefly, and other noises under bonnet repetitively.
The car cranks over fast, and battery is fully charged but will not start.
I plugged in scan tool (cheap eBay) that usually connects. but it will not connect to car.
When it got off the tow truck widows were heavily fogged up, suggesting water got in, had previously been driving in very heavy rain.
Am I looking at a dead ecu? any ideas?
