  • Auto elec recommendation in Brisbane

Looking for any auto elec recommendations in Brisbane (preferably northside)?

I need someone to install driving lights in a 2023 Prado, so looking for somebody that has already done this and can tell me exactly what is needed (e.g. toyota wiring harness or aftermarket etc.).

I've spoken to one auto elec who was a bit vague on what was required.

    Thanks

Can't help you with your main enquiry but one answer to your 2nd question is as follows.
I initially had a Toyota harness when I had my old Cibie Super Oscar HIDs transferred to my then new 2021 GLX by an experienced auto sparkie. When the Cibies fell apart after 20+ years I went with some ARB LEDs. ARB were adamant it had to be their harness to match those lights. After 2 years now, no problems. My recommendation would be to go with somewhere has done it often, not once or twice.

Access Auto in Ashgrove did my lancer ABS no complaints and professional. Not used them for any Prado stuff though but it's such a common car.

I am a bit like Not Enough Time. I cannot recommend a Northside sparkie, my bloke has a workshop at Wynnum North.
For my 2019 GXL, I had some cheaper driving lights fitted. The GXL has self-levelling LED headlights as standard.
The harness that came with those driving lights was unsuitable. The sparkie purchased a genuine Toyota harness to suit. From memory, it cost around the same as my lights. However,so far no problems in the five years.

With my dilemma over ARBs insistence it had to be their ARB harness and Toyota's warning about using non Toyota parts, I resolved it with the fact that I knew ARB in my home town would have installed dozens and dozens of them to our model Prado. Hence my comment about going with someone experienced.

Thanks all for the replies, sounds like the genuine harness may be the way to go.
