Engine cutting for split secound out then restarting

I am having trouble, engine randomly cutting out for a split second at anytime, l have taken the car to two good diesel mechanic's and both say it is electrical. Nothing happens to any other electrics just the engine cuts out and restarts if travelling. Any help would be great.

Did they scan it for codes as most electrical engine issues would normally log a code/s unless its a power dropout to the Engine Control Module (but I think that would also trigger some sort of CANBus Lost Comms fault to be logged).

May be the crankshaft position sensor. it tends to throw up strange faults when faulty.

Problem solved, after getting the egr valve and manifold cleaned the wiring loom on the firewall was rubbing on the a head bolt and randomly shorting, auto electrician pulled it away with a cable tie and all good now.
