We just traced the appropriate pins for the reversing camera and then connected it up, what do you mean by "I also did the selectable view of reversing camera modification"

We simply remanufacted the original covers by removing mounting points and using the famous glue gun to secure. I have kept the hazard switch on the right but the micro card can't be accessed easily, I need to unclip the climate controls to access it. I would be interested to hear what you are doing with the original USB plug.

There's a thread detailing a mod (very easy), where you have a switch which selects the rear camera anytime, not just when in reverse gear.
Handy for keeping an eye on whatever you are towing.

I looked at keeping the hazard switch on the right, but as you say, easy access to the mem card is lost, as well as the port for the ipod cable.
As for the original USB socket, I'm just going to cut and join to one of the 2 USB cables coming from the player.

There is very little free cable for the USB plug so I guess the centre console will have to come out. I am looking at mounting a USB plug into a switch blank as this will fit into the old USB spot. I was then going to put a male USB plug on the other end and simple plug this into one the the suppliede USB leads. I have 2 USB plugs and the IPOD port in the glovebox.

Hi,
the player that was in my Prado was stolen and I was looking to get a replacement for it. It's the 2010 Prado Tx.

I was looking at this system, Kenwood DDX8036BT. Please let me know what you'll think, and if it'll fit properly. I was going to get the TV Tuner unit for it, plus the GPS unit. Anything else recommend ?

I have now had the Chinese system working for around 3 months and everything is still working OK BUT I have since descovered that the software use is pirated software which means that you are unable to upgrade maps through normal chanels. Luckily when I complained they sent me maps that were newer than the Sep 09 that came with the unit. I am endevouring to legitimise the software as I wish to keep this car long term.

I have this unit fitted and it looks good but be aware the moulding is for a LHD Prado. Therefore the RHD hazard switch and reversing sensors do not fit well into the frame. (mine had to be installed upside down.). Another job to be done is the reversing camera which is not covered by the wiring connectors supplied.

The c8013tp is advertised for prado without original amplifier, meaning the amp is built into the player, this is the model for the GXL.

The c8011tp is for prado with original amplifier, this is for the vx and kakadu, as they have a separate amplifier to the player, so the c8011tp only has pre out audio looking for an amp.

To recap, when the ad states with or without original amplifier, they are referring to what is in the vehicle, not what is in the player. Also be careful as most ads say 45 watts built in for both models, this is not the case, only the model for without original amplifier in the prado is 45 watts, the other model has no watts output only low level audio ready to run via an amplifier. Hope that all makes sense.

I've since ordered another unit for a friend, but after 6 weeks I've hade my money refunded as they couldn't supply for some reason. Will now look for another supplier. Does anybody know of a reliable source?

tradesolution.hk was where I purchased the unit I ended up returning to them, as it did not have the 45 watt amplifier built in. When you receive yours, just check the factory label on the player, if it says C8011TP, it does not have an amp built in, meaning it is not for the GXL, but for the VX. The clincher will be whether there is a fan in the rear panel of the player or not (amplifier model has fan to keep things cool). Hope the same doesn't happen to you, if it does, let me know and I'll give you a rundown on the course of action to take.

If it is the correct unit, are you installing it yourself or getting it done by an audio installer? Anyway, best of luck to you.

I haved a custom delay and today my radio will be delivered to my house.... I really hope this es the correct unit, now Im worried about that, but Gary Choy (sales man) confirm to me that this unit have an amp bult in... and also can work with an external amp... mmmm i wish this will be correct....

Smoov, T6813G Dvd player of Tradesolution.hk is ok, it have an 45x4 amp built in, I tested it and works fine in my LC150TX ... thanks God!!!

Tomorrow Im gonna install myself the unit and share some pics....

Hi Frankl, no Im from Lima Peru-South America, here in Peru we have LC150 VX and TX models 2.7 4 cyl and 4.0 V6 I think TX model is the same as GX in Australia... I finish installing my radio and it works fine...

The only thing is that I dont know how to disable the funtion on DVD "enjoy music while driving" when I am not driving!!! I do several things with the monitor pen, and sometimes works de video...but most not...do anyone have this issue and know how to disable this security aplication??

Very easy, at the rear of the player there is a green wire with a label on it saying BRAKE. Connect this wire to permanent earth, the player then thinks you have the hand brake on and will play the video.
