  • Fog Lamp Switch on a GX

My new GX will arrive in a couple of weeks and I will be putting an ARB bullbar on it. I would like to take the fog lights off the ARB bar on my 120 and install them on the new one. Can anyone tell me if there is a fog lamp switch in the GX even though it doesn't actually have the lights?

If they are not fitted there will not be a switch, there should however be a spot for it with a blank panel.

You will be able to retrofit a switch.

Go into a TJM store Doug and ask if you can buy (or have) one of the leftover fog light switches that come with the TJM wiring fog light harness, fits like a glove and matches all the other switches. Just make rue you get the little plug that goes in the back of the switch as well.

If you cannot locate one PM me and I will see what I can find left over from my bar.

        Thanks Daniel
Does that mean there is no wiring harness in the GX or can I locate the wires and just add the lights and switch?

You'll probably find that the harness itself is generic between all the variations, up to the connector for the stalk switch (or other) just from there the wires are missing. That being for both the internal and external connections. Question is - which one is it? I don't have a wiring diagram, nor my own at the moment to photograph the points in question either...

Just bought some second hand fog lights for my 2011 150 GX, I have the wiring under control but noticed there was no harness to secure the light to. The black surround fits perfectly where the original blank one fitted but nothing to secure the four screws around the light, hope that makes sense. Does a GX model not have a harness/bracket for fog lights unless factory fitted? Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Any idea how to switch this and/or where to plug the relay/ fuse ?
              Any advice would be appreciated.
              Thanks

Local toyota dealer, I'm a mechanic so get really good trade prices. I think it was still up near $450 though. If you are still interested I could find out my exact cost or try amayama

Yeah, I should have guessed.... I did the exact same with the cruise control - one standard Toyota cruise control stalk later, just plugged in, and hey, presto!! Cruise control !!!! (only, if I had known, I would not have paid the dealer price, but scavenged a part from a breaker....)
