Kakadu Rear Entertainment system problem

A problem has occurred with our rear system DVD player that the dvd now only works when it is selected and is on the front audio screen as well. Previously we were able to have the kids watching a dvd and listening to it on the wireless earphones and we could listen to the radio or ipod but now if we select the DVD/CD and the rear system starts playing the dvd but soon as we then select the radio on the front screen the DVD stop's playing.

Has anyone else had this problem??

Hi there Sam,

An easy fix.. If you look at the rear screen, press the source button on the remote control.. You will now see a box down the bottom right, "Speaker Output" Select / Deselect as required. If it is selected, what ever is selected on the rear screen will come through the speakers.. To get the dual setup back, simply deselect the speaker output option..

Just not to make another topic:

Series 150 with OE JBL DVD/HDD system.
Are there any video/audio outlets for OE head unit somewhere (behind it?) to pair it with extra aftermarket LCD screen?

Mayby someone pls can help with wiring diagrams of toyota original front and rear dvd systems to find, where the video signal appears (in wires or microchips) to hook it up with extra lcd?

It only has input not out put for an extra screen, why would you want an extra screen?

Ive got only front oe screen/dvd and want to hook it up with rear aftermarket alpine screen.
Its done on LC120, but not yet done on 150. Looking forward to wiring diagrams.

Hi Antonsbungis,

I am in the same situ. I asked a car audio specialist how to connect the head unit to a rear after market system, and they said there was no AV-out from the head unit. Isn't the head unit in the 150 VX the same as the kakadu model... which does connect to a rear roof mounted unit?

I basically want to be able to the same thing the original poster describes (easier to change DVD's for 3 year old from the front).
