mark360, As this has turned into a personal vendetta as opposed to valuable discussion, any further discussion regarding your issues with chip it (whatever they are) should be resolved in PM with Robert. If you have a valid claim and you are not getting adequate response - perhaps the ACCC or Office of Consumer & Business Affairs should be your next point of contact.
Personal attacks or defamatory remarks will not be tolerated, and will earn members in question a holiday.2014 D4D 150 GXL Automatic - CHARCOAL

I can vouch for chip it and there refund policy. I wasnt happy with my chip and chip it allowed me to claim the "money back" no questioned asked.
I will be more than happy to buy it again once those few minor issues get ironed out.Last edited by puregeek; 09-05-2012, 12:28 PM.

Hi Matty and Loz, I havent made any personal attacks or vendettas just asked a couple of simple questions for discussion. I think you'll find in re-reading all the posts the personal attacks have been against me. My first post may have been taken wrongly but wasnt meant that way. I guess the internet its hard to get across context and posts can seem without emotion sometimes but I havent attacked the product or person merely asked a question about a quote about moneyback on their website and if its possible to place in a waterproof housing.
After receiving the following PM from Chipit I'm quite surprised that a few simple questions about their product has brought such a venemous response.

May I say the last few posts make me want to by a Chip It more than ever and I work in mental health but live in NZ where tempers are a little less hot?! Do you sell them across the ditch?2010 Ebony Diesel Auto VX Limited,Colour Coded ARB Bull Bars with Side Rails (For all the sheep),IPF 900XS Driving Lights,12,000lb Trailmaster Winch with Wireless Remote,Safari Snorkel,ARB/Redarc Dual Battery System,Custom Metal Mudflap Extensions,Recovery Kit with Handwinch,Maxtrax, folding winch anchor (for tussock land)

you're not that far away
Yes, we have sent to NZ many times. Even had a company (Liquid Spread) send us their old Common Rail 70 Series Toyota DP chip as a protest. If anyone comes to my place, the DP chip I use to show the differences is theirs

Cheers! (Need to update the avatar, it is a statue on a rock in harbour signifying maori princess who took over driving the waka since her mate was sea sick?!)
I'll get on to your website; bottom line: my only hold up was I hate playing courier tag when electronics and sea water are involved but your handling of what amounts to my daily work experience impressed me enough to give it a whorl--that and the whole issue of cruise control, how best to amp up diesel injectors, and other tech saavy crap!2010 Ebony Diesel Auto VX Limited,Colour Coded ARB Bull Bars with Side Rails (For all the sheep),IPF 900XS Driving Lights,12,000lb Trailmaster Winch with Wireless Remote,Safari Snorkel,ARB/Redarc Dual Battery System,Custom Metal Mudflap Extensions,Recovery Kit with Handwinch,Maxtrax, folding winch anchor (for tussock land)

I doubt that you'll find any real Australian made electronic products, unless you count assembled in Australia as Australian made. All electronic components such as chips, transistors, resistors, diodes, wires etc that I've seen inside stuff are made in Asia. But really I'm not sure what the point of the original question is.
From what I see they have premises in W.A. I think I've driven past them, not sure if that's where they assemble the units, but again I wonder what the point of the question is. But to be honest I'm not sure that any of it matters. We all want the best for the lowest price and that's why everything now comes from overseas.
While I haven't bought a Chip It I have been impressed with the way that they seem to support their product. The only reason I haven't bought one is my nervousness about an issue when I'm at the back of beyond and it seems those issues have been resolved.
Good to see everyone has calmed down. There was a study 50 years ago that showed communication is 7% words (content), 35% tone and 58% body language. Quite often the problem with email and the internet is that we only see the words and then try to guess the real intent, sometimes we get it right and sometimes wrong.Steve

Originally posted by mark360Sure point taken. I guess i could have worded much better. I tried to word it better in later posts and thought the rude responses were a bit overkill. If the points i raised are upsetting for those who have bought one then i guess I shiould have just started another thread where they could choose not to read it. Perhaps I'll do that.
Ive got some other questions too but after Roberts PM to me im no longer a potential customer so theyre really just out of curiosity. Dont think ill post them here though as its clear people dont want to really discuss the product in any depth.
As per my previous post Im still left wondering why the moneyback cant be unconditional and why it cant be put in a waterproof casing? I guess we will never know.

@Mark360,
I agree, interpretation is the single biggest killer of internet forums regardless of the topic being discussed. Im sure you didnt intend upsetting anyone with your comments either. From my experience this is one of the friendliest forums Ive come across and rarely does and argument flare like this one so I guess its just unfortunate that your message was misunderstood in this case.

I smell a troll. One that has been a member for 3 years and has nearly all their 16 posts in this thread....
I'm quite partial to banning trolls, their emails and IP range.. So keep it nice and don't tempt me...
Unless you have valid feedback or questions on the product in discussion, stay out of it..
