    Cheers, Josh
Intercooler cools air, there should be no oil in there.

There is an oil line out of the head of the motor which is plumbed into your intake, oil vapour is recirculated via this (as you can't vent to the atmosphere, legally) and as a result you get oil through your intake and intercooler etc.

The catch can traps a substantial amount of that vapour.

Does anyone know how well the drift catch cans will work in comparison to the provent 200?

I have not seen a provent 200, but from what I understand they are all the same. It is just a space that causes the air flow to slow down so the oil vaper settles on the sides.

I ended up buying the provent, yes more expensive but from a bit more research it seems like a better unit, as it helps filter the gasses aswel. Should be here in a few days.

With the Provent, it looks like it must drain back into the sump. Just wondering where you were thinking of connecting that in, or is there an alternative method of dealing with the excess oil and gas?

                    Steve.
You can drain it back into the sump, or just put a drain hose on and either put a tap on the end or a bolt, and just drain it every few months depending on how quickly it fills, I'm going to do this option, don't feel like tapping into my oil sump.

Fitte my new can today and had to make a decent bracket to mount it first. Was speaking to a friend at work and his mate services a heap of D4D equipped hiluxs and he has seen the results of carboned up intake manifolds and blocked oil pick ups, when no form of catch can is fitted. Apparently his workshop is starting to do this mod on the fleet.

Here is my set up :

Matt did you replace the inlet and out fittings of the can to suit the hose or did you find one the right size?
Reason I ask is most cans that I have seen have inlet and outlet fittings of 9 or 10 mm. When I measured the OD of the outlet on the rocker cover it measured 17mm or there a bout's.

By the way, nice clean install - high on my list of too do's!

Drift catch cans come with a couple of different size connections in the box.

Pinko I chose 16mm ID hose (5/8 actually). Fitted on the engine perfectly and used hose clamps to unsure no issues in the future. I found the so called 15mm fittings were alittle undersized, so I added some eleco tape to bring up the size to fit the hose ID. All good now !

                                Hi there,

I bought a Calibra Catch Can from Supercheap yesterday, $69-00 less 20% $56-00.

The fittings I used are at the link below & 5/8" tube fits perfectly & just needs hose clips.

I soldered a 45 mm piece of copper tube into the inlet fitting (tube goes inside tank) just to separate the inlet & outlets a little more, it may make it a little more efficient.
