Hi People, this sure is getting interesting. My catch can is a 2liter aluminum can .I went for the bigger size to allow for better cooling and air flow .I have noticed a definite temperature difference between the inlet hose and outlet hose which tells me the can is working. I had to make my own mounting bracket and it fits just behind the air filter nice and snug with the level pipe facing towards the engine easier to see . I wonder just how much of that mullock heading back into the sump contributes towards the carbon build up on the pickup screen if you do not have the can??? Cheers Foxy

I drink beer or red wine if you are shouting.
The only clean jar I could get my hands on without my wife killing me

            Catch Can - front mounted

Theory goes that if the catch can is cooler it will allow more condensation to occur - I guess. So here is mine mounted under the lip of the bullbar with just enough room for the hoses to come through the radiator surround, cooled by airflow! Has not been on for too long but when I did drain it had a small amount of water and oil. Oh, by the way on the other side I have also mounted a remote oil cooler/filter to get some oil cooling happening.
            Cheers

I have been convinced of the value of one of these cans, thought I would try and support the local store and enquired about what they could get and what $$................ $189 was their best price

So much for wanting to shop locally, 70-80 I would have said go for it, but thats just ridiculous.

              Cheers Andrew

About $40 at some of the main auto stores even less on ebay. Has anyone thought of using a diesel fuel water separator as a catch can? It has separate chambers, drain plug and some even have filters? Comments anyone?

I might take you up on that, then again I need to practice my aluminium welding, might see what materials I have lying around and see whether I can make my own.

EDIT: New question, are people using heater hose, or oil resistant fuel line etc? I pulled the elbow off today to find a bit of oil inside it....

Hi I initially used heater hose but after a short time it became soft and pliable as it is not meant for oil .I bought the proper oil hose (orange in color) couldn't get a better color and have no problems or worries since. Cheers Foxy

Thanks Foxy, did you source it from someone like Enzed or Pirtek or is there another mob I should be looking at?
