Here is a sample of the catch from a mere 100kms of city based driving, about 50mls, mostly condensation with a little oil held in suspension.
So I guess it really works.
Cheers

Dock,
Is you catch can a baffled one or just an open container with inlet and outlet pipes?

I have been reading this thread with great interest and doing a lot of searching on the internet for Oil Catch Cans. It appears 95% of what are available are only empty cans that you can then instal your own baffles if you want to. The only ones that I can find that come baffled are the Provent 200 @ $175 then you are up for another $80 each time you replace the internal filter. There is also the 42 Draft Designs which has a built in fixed baffle starting at USD$235. Lastly I have just found that Moroso make a number of Baffled Oil Catch cans with various brackets to fit a number of US cars. Looking at what they have available I believe you could easily adapt one of their brackets to fit into the engine bay of the 150. These units are available from approx USD$150 plus a bit for freight from the states. I hope to have a good look at what will fit in my engine bay this weekend and then I think I will go and order one from the States. I believe for these things to work efficiently they need to be properly baffled otherwise with an empty container you are only sucking the same contaminated from the PCV valve into the intake.

I think that if you change the volume of the "Catch Can" by putting steel wool or other material in the can, it may not be as efficient.
The "Can" works on the principal that the volume of the can slows the velocity of the gas & the suspended particles of oil & water drop out of suspension & are collected in the bottom of the can.
The bigger the volume of the "Can" the more efficient it should be, however fitting a bigger can may be restricted by the amount of space available under the bonnet.

Tar Trek.
Happy to take that on board. I will run it for a few weeks with baffling and without and see what happens.

the short answer is no. Suggest you check all of your hose fittings are tight
Blue Storm 150 D4D GXL, Toyota Tow Bar, Cheepo floor mats, Tough Dog Springs & Shocks, Colour Coded TJM T13 steel bar, KingOne winch with rope, GME 3440 80 channel uhf. Not allowed to make hole for snorkel - yet..
all the Oil Catch can fittings are tight, but when was at the engine bay n accelerate the engine, the wizzing sound comes somewhere from the front mid bottom area of the engine....but visually everything looks ok...no loose hose etc

Sounds like (pardon the pun) you are hearing your turbo. If you dont have a turbo, then I cannot help.

Thought someone may be interested in the Moroso Air/Oil Separator I fitted to the 150. It's baffled and not an empty can as many are. You can get them with many different brackets for fitting. This is the one for a 2007 Mustang but I have bolted it onto the front of the Tappet cover. Just had to get a longer M8 bolt and some 5/8" hose. It has tap on the bottom to drain out the oil.
