    To be clear I gain no financial benefit just offering what i get and need to travel to Ipswich.
    So with this remap , you can also get the EGR to shut off as well ?

    • Is there any reason the blanking plate can't be put after the egr cooler? I'm using the full plate and ozbush manual mapper.

      • The reason that was explained to me when Ozbush fitted mine was that by putting it before the cooler it stops the gas getting in and reduces the risk of issues if the cooler leaks. I have the full blanking plate before the cooler and have a partial plate post cooler that was previously fitted, so easier to leave it then remove it. I am happy with the manual mapper in mine and it is also gets ride of a lot of the turbo lag.

        • Hey. Is it possible to to dump the egr gasses back in to the exhaust after the turbo still using a vac valve to still retain exhaust pressure in the system rather than dumping it back in to the intake. This way you still keep the quick warm up with the egr gasses and cooler and eliminate the black build up in intake. Has any one tried this or heard of it.

          • I've had a provent catchcan on my 2.8 diesel for a while now and am wondering if they're necessary, there seems to be very little if any oil fumes coming through on this engine. The drain does collect a little condensation though.

              I would be looking at where you have mounted it you should get no condensation, the unit should be mounted in close to engine to keep the fumes hot or it won't work.
              I made the same mistake when fitted mine had it out the front of the radiator and didn't work, now I have it in front of the brake master cyl and get a fair bit

                I used a kit from Western Filters, the catchcan sits as close as it can;

                • is the EGR thing a whole hit and miss? I've bought a blank for my D4D 150, and just took off the hose and looked down, and my EGR valve looks almost brand new, just a slight smear of black across it. and that's with 120,000kms on it now (2013 model).

                  • Hi brains trust. I've got 2010 that has just had the blanking plate with 7mm hole fitted and full intake clean but is throwing the egr code constantly. Have scan guage so easy to reset but a pain. It's doing it only after about 10-20mins! Engine is not std if this could possibly have an effect or is something connected up incorrectly? Any ideas?

                    • Hey guys, new Prado 150 owner here, my EGR is caked of course..... My mechanic recommended a BG treatment that cleans everything using chemicals injected.... Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks alot... cant wait to get it cleaned and put a egr 7mm plate in to nip this problem off once and for all.

                        Snake oil.. Only way to clean is removal and manual cleaning.. Chemical injection
                        cleaning is a waste of money.

                        • I own a 1KD-FTV 2009 3.0 D4D Prado. At 150.000Kms replaced injectors. While at it cleaned the intake manifold, the EGR cooler, and all the piping in between (everything pretty much caked in). Threw a 7mm KAON blanking plate per instructions. Sure enough, after a couple of days, the engine light came on. Cleared the fault only to have it returned the next day.
                          Meanwhile, the scanner showed that the MAF reading at idle, engine warm, went from the usual 8gr/sec to 14/15gr/sec and the MAP reading went from usual 97/95 to 92/91. Removed the balnking plate and all readings came back up to normal.
                          May i conclude that the blanking plate, as it restricted the flow of exhaust gas into the intake manifold, therefore lowering the MAP, resulted in an increase of fresh air to compensate, thus the sensor readings change?
