Seeing as the Prado is being a bitch at 9,000km without an oil change (it's happening in 2 weeks time :P) and blowing black smoke, I have decided to change the oil between the services next time (at 15,000km).
I have always been a person who wants to use fully synthetic oils and Repco currently have 5L of Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 for $56. Seeing as Magnatec Diesel is only $10 less, I would prefer to stock up on, and use Castrol Edge.
The Castrol Lube Guide recommends it, and the manual in the Prado says the 5W-30 is the best, but is the Castrol Edge actually compatible with the D4D engine?
Thanks
(also, adding a new Toyota to the family soon. A pearlescent white 86 )
