          My turn !

Brains has lent me the controller he has purchased for his 150.

It arrived this arvo and I had it fitted in under five mins. Very basic install and quite easy to set up. I reset the mode from automatic transmission to manual transmission. The drive with the Steinbauer set at position three, combined with the wind booster wound up to P2, at the highest response setting is brilliant.

Around town it pulls away off round abouts a lot better, there is nill boost lag all the time and when I hit the dirt for a play, it had no issues spinning all four wheels enough to bring on the traction control alarm ! Tomorrow i am towing my camper to the coast for some canvas work, so I shall report back after towing the camper 250km and driving back without the camper on.

I feel sorry for my poor coopers ! Wheel spin is fun, even in a diesel for a 40 year old....

Can somebody confirm my suspicions that this unit simply interrupts the throttle position sensor and changes the output? Effectively the same as pressing the pedal faster/further?

Does it have any other functions? Can it be used as a "hand throttle" to set a higher idle? That would seem to be a really useful function that would be easy to create by setting a minimum "output" (voltage?) from the box.

You can think of it like an amplifier for your throtlle, thats as basic as I can descibe it
they dont have any other functions like hand throttle but I have sugested it to them however they didnt think that was a great idea due to people leaving them on etc when driving home.

BTW they are back instock now and ready to go.

Has anybody run one of these on a 150 petrol? I be interested in seeing the results as the slow throttle response is not due to the engine characteristics but the electronic throttle.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Can't help you on the petrol engine Richo, but i put it on this morning and drove to Oppy Lock with it on the highest sport setting, well i don't think i can drive without it on any other setting, the economy setting will be good in the rough stuff but after driving with it on sportz setting there is no going back LOL, as a side note i dropped it back to to lowest stting for my wife Helga because she is a rev head so its a win/win for me. A great addition to the Prado.

                      Cheers Derek

                                Hey Guys

Has anyone in Sydney got one that i can test on a 150 Diesel AUTO?

Just wanna get a feel of it around town and with the boat behind before i purchase.

                                Thanks
