G'day chaps,
Had the Steinbauer fitted by Diesel Care, Dalby last Friday. I filled-up in Brissy. When I got to Dalby my average was showing 8.4 l/100km. On the way home that dropped to 7.9 l/100km. The best way to describe the change is 'driveability'. There are a couple of corners in my suburb where I round them at 1800 RPM and always get that annoying flat spot feeling through the throttle; this has now gone!
Acceleration is markedly better (and smoother). Torque improvements I suggest have given the car that better driveability feeling. Whist these cars are never going to be a fire-breathing dragon (I’m past that stage) I’m very happy with the results.
I have considered a new exhaust from Beaudesert, but my research indicates if I’m only towing my box trailer occasionally, don’t bother - I’ll only be getting another 2% or so improvement. So, maybe some shockies might be in order.
2012 VX - with nothing on it
