  • 3rd GEAR FLAT SPOT??? Fuel Manager filter fitted, 2 micron.

    Hi guys,

Just fitted a 2 micron filter to my 2011.
Dont know if this was happening previously but I took it for a drive just now and from 0kmh I run through the gears full throttle up to around 3200 rpm before shifting.
Goes 1st, 2nd, then when I hit 3rd at 2500rpm to 3000rpm it just hits a flat spot. Bugger all power. Like the turbo isnt spooling up.
Wondered if fuel starvation but just installed a Fuel Manager 100 series by Stanadyne rated: Max fuel flow (inc. return flow) 300 Litres/hour.

Like I said I havent done this before so this could be a pre-existing thing.

    Could it be Electrical? Programing?

Also it took a while to start after install. Like 5 or 6 seconds!!

    Any help appreciated.

Also has anyone else installed one of these and had problems with diesel leaking (very minor)??

Bypass the filter and see if it disappears, if so you know where to point your finger. There shouldn't be a fuel leak at all, that wont help.

Found out reason for fuel leak. Missing an O ring seal - straight out of the box....

INterestingly fixed fuel leak and so far flat spot has gone too. Maybe drawing in air through the leakage?
