  • Does the Egr blank need a hole?

G'day just ordered a catch can of ebay going to order a blanking plate as well unsure if the 09 150 needs the 10mm hole or not?
If anyone has installed the blanking plate without the hole can u let me know if there was any issues with car be put into limp mode

Short answer is dont do it, your egr system also controls the boost, so by blocking it off you also can cause high boost circumstances. I won't go into it here, it has been covered in depth many times. Install a good (provent) catch can and be done with it.

Some say no hole, no codes.
        Some have 8mm hole.
        Some have 10mm hole.

I would have thought that fitting a catch can would negate the need to block off the egr.
