  • timing belt light

    Hi Guys,
Is there an easy way to turn off the timing belt warning light after replacing the belt.
Had mechanic do belt at 145,000 before I headed off across the Nullarbor not knowing how long I was going away.
Now at 150,000 warning light on, do I need to see my local dealer, is it done through the computer?

Mines a 150 with key less start, tried following instructions but couldn't get to T-Belt mode.
Will drop into City Toyota tomorrow and ask, they did computer update free of charge, usually very obliging.

        I can't remember if I Have done a belt in a 150 yet, I think it's the same procedure.
It can be a pita doing these things with the push button sh!!ter.

I had mine done at 125,000 because of water pump and other issues. I raised this with the mechanic and he just said bring it back when it comes on and he will fix. My next service is in about 6 weeks (130,000) and don't expect to need a reset for another 18 months as I normally do about 15,000 kms a year.

              Yes thanks,
Before reading your posting I saw City Toyota, they wouldn't do it till I returned with an invoice to prove belt had been changed.
Saw my mechanic today he rang his mate at Toyota and did exactly as described worked perfectly.
              Mine a GX 150

              Regards
