  • Anyone using a Scotts Rods 3 inch pipe on their 150 D4D?

    Hi all.

Just starting to do a few mods to our 2010 Prado and wanted to know if anyone has purchased and used one of these Scotts Rods 3 inch mandrel bent pipes on their 150 Prado:

By all accounts they to be okay however always interested to hear others experiences.

I am unsure whether I need the EGT probe but it would be a good investment if I wanted to install a pyrometer. Has anyone done this?? In my earlier 1HDT and 1HD-FTE Landcruisers we have run pyrometers to ensure the temps did not get too hot. Does anyone know if the D4 exhaust temps get too hot with a chip fitted which is another mod to come soon maybe?

    Cheers

I sent a email to Scotts last year when I was looking for a replacement exhaust for my 08 120 auto,
There reply is below, note comment regarding need cat converter.
I assume the comment would still apply to the 150

I would strongly suggest only buying the system with the cat as we have found without the cat the engine light will turn on with a code. Turbo stepper motor. The problem is the turbo can’t keep up with the amount of air going through the system when there is no cat.
