Rattle when cold

Hi guys ,

My prado has a rattle in the engine when cold, goes away pretty quick,

I have checked the sump strainer and all clean,

Parked on hill and starts no smoke

is it best to get the injectors replaced for safe keeping ?

I assume you have read the 970 pages here devoted to the D4D and injectors? Get the feedback values checked asap.

Yeah I have been doing some reading up on it, just so much to look at

I will take it to bailey diesel ASAP I think

Been a few around the traps that have had injectors replaced and later suffered a cracked piston. Get it checked asap.

So baileys may not be the answer

My 09 model has euro 5 injectors and they don't do rebuilds on them
Does this sound right?

She also told me that you don't need to check valve clearances on a common rail,

I know that's WRONG !!! It's only for older cars????

People help!!! What should I do being an early prado should it not have the euro4 injectors

BDG haven't released their 150 injector yet so the only option at the moment is genuine/Denso. Have you had feedback values done? How many km etc? Not sure if RickNZ is/was doing genuine injectors and pipes for the 150. Otherwise you can get Denso injectors (same as Toyota without the expensive packaging) through #### and others.

BDG not doing 150 series yet, is correct.

Yes I wanted them to do it, after they said this was not required and you don't need to do it it really makes me second think about letting them any where near my car

The 150's come up really well with new injectors, so not to worry.
Get a new set, they don't cost much more.
By the time your due for a new set, BDG will have some blueprinted ones available & by then we will know more about how good they are.
How any Klm's on it?

It has 120k on it hence the tappets,

I figured you need to remove the pipes to do the tappets so I may as well get them done as well,

At 120k is where I recommend you replace your Injectors & pipes , clean egr system.
Check valve clearances. Adjust if necessary & if so replace timing belt early.

From Toyota just under $600 each, just over $400each is what they are worth new for DENSO Injectors for 150 Prado.
