  • 60 000 kms service

    Hello all,

I just bought a 2011 GX manual 6 speed 3 litre diesel. Does anyone out there know what should be done at a 60 000 kms service. I have changed fuel, air, pollen filters and motor oil but that's it. Is that all I need to do for 60 000kms?

About to install a Mann Provent 200 catch can and a secondary fuel filter.

Should I worry about coolant flush yet? When should the gear box oil get done? Anything I have missed, what about drive shaft lubrication or any other lubrication?

Any advice at all is greatly appreciated, I want to do as much as I can myself in the future, I want to learn heaps more about my car and look after it for many years to come. Never really been that mechanical but it's time to change that.

Searching for a 150 series mechanical hard copy manual, can only find cd's on ebay. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

88 views and no replies. How come no-one knows what to do at the 60 000 km service? My car didn't come with a service book and I am struggling to find any info on the internet. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't have a diesel. I can look in my service book after work and see if it has the diesel items in the schedule. No service book is not a good sign, did it have any service history?

If we go by the book then Toyota recommends:
By 60K these are the items they suggest you should have replaced or inspect. (Inspect means checking condition and change if necessary)

        Drive Belt: Inspect
        Engine Coolant: Inspect
        Exhaust Pipes Mountings: Inspect
        Battery: Inspect
        Water Sedimenter: Inspect
Air Flow Meter: Inspect and clean
Fuel tank cap, fuel lines, connections and fuel vapor control valve: Inspect
Brake pedal, parking brake, brake pads and rotors: Inspect
Brake Fluid: Replace (At 40K or 24 Months)
        Power Steering Fluid: Inspect
Steering Wheel Linkage and Gear Box: Inspect
        Propeller Shaft: Lubricate
        Driveshaft Boots: Inspect
Suspension Ball Joints and Dust Covers: Inspect
        AT Fluid: Inspect
        Transfer Oil: Inspect
Differential Oil: Inspect every 20K and replace every 40K
        Wheel Bearing Grease: Replace
        Front and Rear Suspension: Inspect
        Refrigerant amount for A/C: Inspect

Personally i would replace all fluids, check suspension components and clean the air flow meter.

Thank you all for the excellent information, now I have an idea of what needs to be done. True, no service book is not a good sign but the vehicle seems to be fine from what I can tell, I had an inspection done prior to purchase. Ex Pilbara hire car, looks like it was on Newman mine.
As soon as I got it I changed oil and filters but wasn't sure what else should be looked at at 60 000 kms.

Just about to go and put the Mann Provent 200 catch can on and do a radiator flush, just ordered the secondary under bonnet fuel filter.

Again, thanks for your help gents.

Don't forget the fuel filter between the 2 fuel tanks, according to the book its meant to be changed every second service. I bought a 2012 gx recently an ex gov vehicle and when we changed all the filters and oils the fuel filter between the tanks looked like it had never been changed.
