MY14 GXL Power Steering Noise

Dunno if I am being fussy or not, I reckon the noise from my power steering is excessive. I asked Toyota to have a look and listen at the 1000km service and they reckoned it was normal. Im not convinced. Thoughts comments anyone?

Is it mostly when stopped or pulling from a park or similar?
Always thought mine is excessively loud also, fluid is at normal level so definitely not that.
I guess could be normal operation? Mine is a 2014 GXL also.
Everybody else feeling the same?

Mine (MY14 GXL) is all good, no abnormal sounds or noises.

What sort of noise is it making?

My 2015 is the same. Sort of a low pitched whine especially when close to or on full lock.

My 2012 has the same noise, but not all the time either. It's never effected the steering yet.

Have made mention of it ever service, even though Toyota say it's a normal noise.

At least if it is an issue down the track, I've got it on file that I thought there was a problem.

Mine is in today for a replacement. MY14 gxl. Slightly noisey.

Mine whines low pitched but so has nearly every car I have owned, especially under load. Your're not supposed to turn the wheels lock to lock on the spot anyway so if its noisy when you do that its just straining. also never hold it full lock for long, it kills them quick.

Otherwise I'd consider it normal.

Mine's been making an excessive power steering whine since new (Dec 14). Enough to make me check the fluid level as it reminded me of cars I've had years ago that were losing fluid. Drove the mate's Prado from the same batch and it's the same, so I put it down to being "normal" for Prado's. My previous two 200's did not do this.
