I'm not sure if I have a problem or not but I reckon my tank isn't filling properly. In the the last two fills, there hasn't been as much fuel go in as I expected. For example, the second last fill was after my Easter trip. I fueled up when I got home and only 83L went in and I had traveled around 1080 km. When the gauge went towards F, I noticed it didn't go all the way so I though something was wrong (ie I didn't fill it properly). With that tank load, I traveled 832km (all around town) and the light came on yesterday with the computer reading a range of around 80km to go. I fueled it up and 107L went in (meaning there was 43L and with a range of 80km, something doesn't add up) . The Gauge went to F and the range updated to read 1105 km. This morning, during my drive to work, I noticed the gauge has already moved off the F, normally it takes a little more driving than the 8 or 9 km that I had traveled to do this. Also, when I was fueling up yesterday, I noticed alot of blow back and venting going on when it was full, don't know if this is related. Has any one experienced not filling to capacity?

I've had this issue before and there are a couple of reasons I've found.
1. When the fuel light comes on there is still approx. 30L in the tank still.
2. Depending on the diesel, some brands foam a lot more than others. On a big fill (from near empty) you have to fill and wait ages for some brands to de-foam before getting a bunch more fuel in. I found Shell to be the worst for this. Due to the foaming the fuel nozzle will think the tank is full and click off

Should be able to get 140L if you drive till the DTE reads zero. Caltex is the best (they are the only suppliers who test their fuel quality on site) and cheap fuels are the worst.
Also fill the tank slower.-=2014 GXL D4D Auto Graphite, Firestone Airbags, ARB/Optima D34 Dual Battery, ARB UVP, TJM Airtech Snorkel=-
