  • Tank switch over / reading the fuel gauge

Before you jump to conclusions this answer can't be solved with a read of the owners manual. I am just trying to figure out when you fill the tank how to tell when you have filled the first tank before filling the second? Does it just continue filling? How do you tell when the gauge is displaying primary or secondary tank? Or does it just display a total and when it displays half that is half of total capacity not half of primary or secondary tank? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi mate,

Just think of it as one tank. There is no easy way to tell. The gauge operates as though it is just one big tank.

It's no 180l, but it gets us far enough :-)

it has a fork about 300mm past the filler hole which feeds into both tanks, when the lowest tank fills first it then finishes filling the higher tank.

Thanks for your replies. That pretty much answers my question. Put $100 worth of diesel in yesterday and got about 75 litres. It is now reading 3/4 of a tank. Filled up at just before empty. Bought this prado second hand and didn't ask these questions before sale
