Fuel warning light on

I don't have a prado fuel in ryco here but ryco filters are made in Korea, South Africa and Thailand, maybe other places that I'm not aware of. The genuine Toyota fuel filter is made by Denso in Japan. If it's not a genuine aftermarket Denso or a genuine Toyota filter it isn't the same. This is not my opinion, this is a fact. Ask anyone who works in the industry.

Edit- Curiosity got the better of me. On the way home from work I had to swing into Repco to pick up some parts for tomorrow. Ryco also have filters made in China, which is where the underbonnet fuel filter for 150 Prados is made. The Repco branded filter is also made in China, so they are possibly the same. In short they definitely aren't made in Japan, and definitely aren't the same as the genuine filter. Just sayin......... :P

2 of 3 of us filled up at Kings Canyon resort yesterday. About 200km later, those 2 (150 VX and 200LC) had filter lights come on about 50km apart. 150VX had something like "fuel maintenance require" as well as ECO light always displayed and park brake light illuminated.
We changed the filter halfway between Kings and Uluru, but the light came back on immediately. I think we just need to reset the sensor/system? Any ideas?
Presumably bad fuel in Kings Canyon resort, as it was the only place I did not fuel up with them (but I am also the only one with a 2nd fuel filter)

Happy to pay the extra for Toyota product as I agree for the extra money paid I feel assured it's genuine. Most interesting thing to come out of this is I drove highway driving from Jervis Bay to Sydney Sunday night with fuel light on and avg consumption increased to 10.3l. After filter changed and driving in Sydney it's already back down to 9.8 and dropping. So dirty filter may equal increased fuel usage is that right?

Definitely try resetting the light. Unplug the sensor on the top of the filter housing, start the vehicle, count to fifteen (about 10 secs), plug sensor back in. Should be all good then.

AussieAndy, I'm sorry you feel slighted by my comments no harm was intended.
I use to work for a manufacturer of filter medium. Denso makes its fuel filters in Indonesia as I recollect with the same medium as a few others who make the aftermarket filters (Could be the same factory). Yes obviously the quality is up to the manufacturer how much and what type of medium is included. That's all I have to say on this subject.

No worries Colin, I guess I was having a bit of a bad day yesterday morning and my skin wasn't quite as thick as it should have been. All the genuine Toyota fuel filters I have here at work have Denso printed on them, as well as made in Japan. It is possible Denso have a factory in Indonesia, but they must also have one in Japan.

They build the Hilux in Thailand so makes sense that some parts may be sourced from there too.
