Oil change

Hi all,

I am going to do my first service on my 150 D4D this weekend (100,000k service). Anyone got any tips on extra things to do or look for, and any info on doing the oil change (drain plug torque, etc). I normally have a service manual with me when servicing my cars but haven't got the one for the 150.

Also, Toyota service manual for KDJ150 says 7 litres of oil (5W-30, 10W-30, 15W-40, or 20W-50) if you're also changing the filter. It mentions to use oil types G-DLD1, API CF-4, CF, or
ACEA B1 (You may also use API CE or CD). If you check on any oil manufacturers website they should tell you which oil they recommend for your engine.

Torque setting for the sump plug is 34 Nm or 25 ft.lb

Thanks Mike. That's exactly what I was looking for. I actually searched for this type of thread about 3 or 4 times in the last 2 months while researching what oil to buy then the actual process for changing the oil but kept coming up with a blank. Don't know why that thread wasn't in the search results as it is exactly what I was searching for both times. Cheers.

Mate, i find it easier to use google and search pradopoint + "oil change" or whatever your subject might be. Then it will give a good long list, plus you can also search for pictures that way, which can be really helpful if you're trying to search a thread for some pictures.
