  • Manual Mapper for 150 1KD-FTV engines

    Hi Gents,
Referring to Manual Mapper Project for Toyota Diesel Engines in 120 diesel engine forum.

I just found out Toyota is using two different types connectors for same MAF sensor in 150 1KD-FTV engines.
One is normal size and another one is a half size of MAF connector.

I am looking for a person who owns Prado 150 with 1KD-FTV diesel around 2013 up and lives in Sydney Metro area.

I would like to come and take some picture and measure the size of MAF connector. So I can procure the connectors from overseas.

In return, I will supply you with new Manual Mapper free (of course you become the tester).

Please let me know if anyone interested. Email to [email protected]

    Cheers,
    Ozbush

    Ozbush,

I am in Hornsby and have a 2015 Prado, so if you want to have a look in person let me know.

Hi MYR150, How did the test go on a late 1KD-FTV engine? Do you have a production version mapper now installed? I'm particularly interested whether by turning it into the negative area there are really fuel savings. Can't quite see it being different to an accelerator movement remapping. Engine management would only be responding to an understated air mass and hence injecting less fuel, hence power output is reduced. So I'm not quite sure whether the fuel saving are perhaps as a result from further leaning out the factory tune or whether is the result from a sedated response limiting driver aggression. Also, I have not seen a risk discussion for possible mechanical overloading when in the plus adjustment range and is combined with other modifications that increases the oxygen intake.
