For anyone interested I was able to find a copy of the graph supplied by Toyota for the new 2.8l diesel. See pic

Many thanks cuda. I pick up my first diesel car (of any type) on Tuesday- an auto 2.8 1GD. Replacing my 1998 90 series petrol, owned since new. I can see that this is a totally different beast in terms of what revs will do what when underway compared to my petrol engines. A picture tells a thousand words....
