Symo - care to explain for a simpleton like myself. i assume your alluding to the fact that chips 'trick' the ecu? whereas a re-map re-programs.
Benlux - may i ask who you used around town ?

also rough price? i would assume its around the $1500
Correct. One just alters feedback values from the engine causing the ECU to overcompensate somewhat supposedly improving power.

But with any turbo charged engine if you don't increase boost, you're not getting any more power or torque. Not enough to right home about.

Hi Money. Mine was done by Bayside Performance Services at Cleveland. Give James a call on 07 3488 2911 and he may have someone who can assist you closer to home. I was very happy with their service and as mentioned they came recommended to me initially. Howso

Go see just autos at Nambour on sunny coast
He has all the gear to tune prado 150

I'm taking mine there in a couple of weeks as well

                  PRICE ???

Was at farmfest today and talking to a place they are saying 20% extra from standard is the safest. I still can't see why it cost 1200 for a simple ecu reprogram its plug in a laptop load a new file ( changing timing/boost/fuel pressure and modulation).
And maybe a dyno run before and after if they have the facility.

Just had my car done by ECU West
i have a 3inch exhaust already on my prado 2014.
                    Cost was $1200
Result, was it snap your neck off, no. however it has allowed me to have a much more responsive car in the early stages. personally i have found the prado to be 'laggy' at take off, this is gone. i do have more power through out the range.
The wife noticed it instantly upon driving it.
I go on a trip to Ningaloo in 3 weeks towing a Hawk, and playing in the dunes. I guess that will be the true test. at this stage I am unsure if it was worth the money.
like everyone has said, its an easy $1200

Hey dirkw those figures are a little hard to see what was the before and after figures for torque? How does it perform now is it a big difference and do you think it was worth it?
                        cheers Ryan

Looks like. 30% increase, 300 to 400 at the wheels.

So approx 533nm peak but not everywhere, the area under the graph is what determines overall increase and I can't work that out on my phone.

                            Don't forget stock exhaust and 265 70 17
Also dyno doesn't read properly bellow around 2800rpm
This is where the real gains are felt

What? 2800rpm? I think that is a typo since the engine hits peak power at that point so what your saying the entire power band is not read properly? I don't think so.
