After recently purchasing my first Prado and for that matter, my first diesel, I've been doing so much searching and reading lately and the more info I read, the more info I lose (in my head). Is there a thread that has a point type list of what should be done at what kms/months and specialty tools and things required for DIY. I found a Toyota schedule, but I am very skeptical of factory service intervals, these days, it's more about getting them safely through the warranty period than a proper service life. Having a background in repairing and building classic cars and race cars, Prados and diesels are totally new to me, so I don't even know what to search for, let alone what I need to know.
Other things like Techstream info and understanding what the info we can get off it means (what ranges everything should and shouldn't be in), also will normal scan tools give the same information? Also, maybe links to threads with images of processes like changing the tank filter, checking the fuel accumulator etc.
If people could add info into this thread, I'd be happy to add it to this post in point form to make it a one stop shop for the new guys. Anything from Youtube videos (I couldn't find anything useful on there), to thread links and product options.
I just typed this up, but please correct, add, remove to it.
