DPChip what setting do people use, for those who have a DPChip

So, I had a redback stainless steel flow through muffler fitted, cost $220, from Mac Mufflers in Brisbane, very happy with their work and there is no extra noise or drone at all with the new muffler.

I'll drive the car for the next week, then turn the dpchip up a notch or two, and see how it performs. At the current setting of red+1 I am very happy with the performance , and while I didn't expect it, the fuel economy has improved also.

The photo shows the fuel economy computer after a 20mins hwy drive, at 110km hr, around town the trip computer is recording 8.5L/100

So what does the seat of the pants performance check say?
I found that it seemed to rev out better/faster, like you would expect given that the engine/turbo can now flow more air.

good question, I find the torque a lot better, I don't plant the foot, just ease the foot down on the accelerator and the speed builds pretty quickly, and you are doing 100km/hr before you know it.
I tow a boat (about 1.4tonne all up, so not real heavy) and the prado tows it just fine. The engine seems to be quieter too, when cold the diesel was a bit noisy, but now, even cold, it is a fair bit quieter.
This is all anecdotal, but I am very happy with both the chip and the muffler.

I am keen to turn the dpchip up one or two notches and see how it goes, i'll post my results.

Don't ya just love it when the cheap option works out?
Now go out and get some instrumentation and you can get serious!

Holy moly ....... Chip on just the low setting and the 3in exhaust I just fitted has turned the prado into a different 4wd I'm so happy with the results!!

Seat feel is 100 times better

hey Kayde, that is great news mate, I ended up leaving it on red+1, I tried red+2, didn't seem to make any difference, went to orange+1 and saw a bit of exhaust smoke if I planted to foot from rest (just playing with it) so I went back to red+1 and am happy with it there (I only upgraded the muffler, so still have the standard 2.5" exhaust).

Let us know how you go with different settings, if you decide to change them.
