G'day all,
I run an Ultragauge and have the coolant temp as a standard gauge.
It's average running temp is 87-89 degrees when 'warmed up'. Yesterday I was on my way back from Ormiston Gorge sitting on 100 on cruise. For those that know the road it is a lot of small 'humps' which is enough for the cruise on the prado to lose speed, drop back a gear and accelerate up the hill for maybe 5 seconds before reaching the top.
It was 34 out and I noticed the coolant temp to be around the 95 mark. Obviously the engine was working harder to climb but was wondering if anyone else with a scangauge/ultragauge can let me know if this is a normal running temp?
On a side note it was 40 here today and the Ultragauge set off a warning that it's internal temperature was 163 degrees after sitting in the sun for a bit. Ever wondered how hot it is in Alice? There's your answer!
