Hi all,
Just got my injectors done and today I noticed a noise under acceleration. Seems to come from the passenger side of the engine bay.
I can't hear it while revving stationary but I can hear it while accelerating under load. The passenger in the car said she couldn't hear anything. She isn't a car person so not sure about the reliability of that.
Have been driving the car for 4 days since the injectors and this arvo is the first time I've noticed it.
Hear it better with the windows up than i do with the windows down.
There doesn't appear to be any loss of power.
I have done an inspection of the induction system and have checked all the hose clamps and tightened them just to be sure. Have also checked their position on the metal part to make sure they are making a seal.
I can't see any visible gaps between any of the gaskets on the metal section of the induction.
Can't feel any rips/holes in the silicone induction hoses.
From what I understand about replacing injectors the induction system only gets removed up to the butterfly? About 8 months ago I did remove up to and including the elbow to clean. When reinstalling I did possibly cross-thread a bolt on the EGR but it still did tighten down and I couldn't see a gap so I left that for future me to deal with. Maybe future me ha become present me and now i have that problem??
I am hoping that the new injectors have made the engine quieter, therefore i am just hearing normal noises that I couldn't hear before but any suggestions of what to check will help.
Cheers!
