The 30% between different figures is pretty huge, even allowing for the differences in vehicles. Agree on the filling inaccuracies because the Prado is notorious for issues with frothing which screws up filling results.

First tank consumption figures
So after refueling my brand new GLX (Stock standard no gear YET) I have come up with an official average for my vehicle. Vehicle ODO read 1190.5km with the trip computer saying I had 98km range remaining. Imagine my shock when I filled up to the brim and could only fit 126.5 lts in the tank. So the computer is wrong by a long way... anyways the official figure was 10.63lts per 100 kms.

From 37km to now, 6500km, taken over 12 top ups, I have an average of 9.7l/100km (actual, not computer). This is all on road driving, with a mix of city (about 4500k's) & rural (about 2000k's). My consumption has started to improve from about the 5000k mark, so obviously things are bedding in.Aug 14 150 GXL D4D Auto. BFG KO2's. Hi flow muffler. 7mm EGR restrictor plate.Bushman fridge.

Mine has 131,000 on it now and since fitting the Coopers ( which brought the speedo at least back up to correct, verified by GPS) I am able to get into the high 10s if I stick to around 90 - 100 on a run, up that to 110 and the economy suffers. Around town I am averaging 12.5.
If I put the bike trailer on that goes out to about 15 - 17 and a large caravan up to 19 ( I only tow in S4 at 90 - 100 though)
To clarify all figures off the fitted computer though, which may or may not be accurate.Kev,

Sounds thirsty Kev for a D4D. I would have expected better then that. I just got back from trip up north (Halidays point) and I averaged 11.8L per 100 in my 120 4L V6 four people on board aircon off n on and a bit of playing on blackhead beach while I was up there, that's with 2 inch lift D697's A/T's alloy bar plus a load in the back fridge luggage etc.... I was pretty happy with that....around town I'm thirstiest about 16/17's. Can't say on the towing but imagine it would be a lot higher then yours ...cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. 2014 VX Diesel
My last fill for 2014 Toyota Prado VX Diesel (265/70R17 AT LT Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres) after a trip with 5 on board and luggage (lots of mountain driving + highway + some city + little off-road):
11.0 l/100km actual use (10.4 l/100km car computer showing): 1186 km driven, 130l of diesel used, car computer showed 50km range left and orange fuel warning light came up 5km before fill. So I had 20l of fuel left in the tank but car gave me a warning - it was same issue with my previous Prado 150 GXL V6 - range to go was never an accurate indication ...
Prior fill:
11.5 l/100km actual use: 988 km driven, 113.7 litres of diesel used (all in heavy Sydney traffic)
Car is standard VX besides AT tyres fitted on 17 inch rims.
I can get mid 8's on car computer on my VX when with 2 passengers and in sustained cruise control at around 100km on M2/M4/M5/M7 motorways and no traffic.

2014 manual GXL diesel, with steel bull bar/steps/2 inch lift/full camping luggage/complete RV5 tent package/five on board, on the standard Grandtrek tyres.
I am still averaging 9.3l/100km, 1250ish - 1360ish. Urban/Hwy with the combination of peak hour to little traffic. I shift gears at 2000 rpm and always have the cruise control on, 35/37 psi combo.
When I had a naked Prado (no after market accessories/parts/luggage), I was averaging 8ish litres/100km.
'Gotta luv dat Prado'

I always run cruise unless towing or in the hills, might be time for an injector change, kill two birds with the one stone.Kev,
