Yes, worked out with an APP.

      • I recently upgraded to 265/70/17 BFG and now my speedo is perfectly correct. Filled up recently when I had done just over 1,000km and the car took 110 lt of diesel. That result was in line with the trip computer which was showing 11.1 lph

That's good to know, as mine is just about identical. I have the BFG KO's in the same size, and looking at your signature, I have very similar accessories.

          • I average around 1200-1250km to a tank and refill when the light comes to around 135l doing 80%highway/20% around town. This is for sitting on around 110 on highway. Even though my average consumption is around 10l/100kms on the trip computer, in reality it is around 11l/100kms. If I sit on a true 100km/h this goes down to 9.5. I have a stretch of road to work fixed at 70kms for over 10kays with no traffic and the consumption plummets to 5.5-6.0l/100km.

I've noticed that the odometer distance is very accurate however, on standard tyres, where as the speedo is a little conservative which in understandable. 100km/h on the speedo is really around 96-97km/h. A slight oversize tyre normally makes the speedo spot on but affects the odometer/trip meter slightly as expected.

I work in mining in Pilbara and drive Prados for work 'a lot' as well as having one of my own and my values seem to be pretty even across the board. The older KD powered 120's are a fraction better on economy (slightly) and certainly much better than my older KZ powered one. 13l/100km was the norm for this on the highway.

The computer is telling me over the life of the car it has averaged 10.1 litres
Bloody Awesome I think. It was under 10 until my last trip

              • I drive a 150 GXL with only 24k on it, just had a trip to Melbourne from Newcastle, fuel figures were 8.77 per 100 lkm over 1270klm on the way down and 8.42 over 1174 klm on the way back, this is filled to double click both times.

I cruised at around 108-9 on the speedo, so about 105 by GPS actual speed most of the way on the freeways.

                  • For people trusting that in dash fuel reading, it's low by just over 1 litre. So a wonderful 10/100km in the dash is truthfully 11/100km at the pump.

Not with the 2.8l. Its pretty close to the actual reading about 1.0% out from what I can tell so far.

                      • Over 29000km, since I bought the beast, I am averaging 14.4 l/100km. I have done very little city driving, but I have done lots of off-road in low gear, including around 1500km on Fraser Island on the back roads in lots of soft sand and also towing a camper trailer all the way from Melbourne. This is 2007 d4d. Also includes camper trailer trip to Coffs through the Snowies, and couple of trips to Northwest victoraian desert contry, few trips to the high country. 2inch lift and BFG A/Ts, bull bar, and most of the times Thule roof box.

I get this measurement using a spreadsheet and actual pump readings and odometer readings (always fill full)

                        • Just got back from a 2 week trip Adelaide to Fraser Island. Fuel consumption was 10.6lt per 100km.(taken from the pump) That included 500km on Fraser Island tracks.
Always sit on the max speed limit, two people, full boot. Very happy with the way the bus handled!

                            • I filled up with a truck hi flow hose after I drove around 60km past the DTE zero. Was just saying -- for the kms left. Only did 1100km on that tank. I could only fit 119L in though.

When I took off the fuel gauge wasn't full so I pulled in to the next service station 500m down the road and put another 24L in.

My range ended up saying 1100 again, so I reset the average consumption by the time I drove 60km home it read 1230km.

There is a serious issue with air lock in these tanks.

                              • I get around 9km/ltr. My way of calculation is tank full to tank full till it can take no more fuel. That volume divided by km traveled. Mileage has stayed between 9 to 9.8 for most of the time. Mostly city driving. It is 3.0 D4D no DPF!

Never let the fuel light to come on, because by then you have gone too far down the fuel tank and pick all the good stuff in the fuel line!
D4D. How long will it last?
