Any mods to the vehicle? How did you work out your usage? Was the speed based on car speedo or gps? Your only doing about 102 at 110 according to the gps readings.

That is very good mileage. As mentioned earlier my way of determining mileage is tank full to tank full divided by km's. So I think it is close enough if not 100% accurate.

worked out after filling up, surprisingly the onboard trip computer is very accurate, both the trip computer and app I use returned 7.9, no mods to car, doing 110 is actually 108 according to my gps app on me phone. tyre pressure 40psi.

The fuel economy reading on my dash computer looks like being stuck at 9.3 l/km, it has not changed for as long as I have noticed. Another feature?

                • Just did a trip from Brisbane to Canberra and back and although the car computer said my average down was 8.9 l/100km it actually turned out to be 9.1 when I filled the tank and made the calculation over the distance travelled. On the way back to Brisbane the computer said 8.5 l/100km but it worked out to be 9.2.
The difference here could always be whether I can fill the car right up or not as sometimes I'm sure it gets a bit of air in the tanks.
The car was only lightly loaded with perhaps 200 kgs and 2 people.
Still quite happy with that result.

                  • 2015 GXL 40k ARB Deluxe Bar, snorkel, rhino platform, 265/70/16 averaging 12.5. Hills and head winds particularly when towing or with the roof rack loaded up take it up to 13.5ish.

                        • Just did a Syd- Mel down the Hume and back via the coast. 9.6 l/100 over 2200 km but big variations. On the Hume at the 110 kph limit it was sitting on 9.9 -10 but once into Vic into 100 kph areas it was lower at about 9.7. However when I refilled at Bainsdale and did the accurate fill to fill calculation it had done 9.2 over 1400 km. Not bad [ coming from a 120 V6]. Bainsdale to Syd is much hillier and curvier and I wasn't wasting time in a few parts but ended up with 9.8. Interestingly I am consistently seeing that the display on the dash reads higher than a carefully calculated fill to fill figure. Car has Cooper AT3 tyres 265/65, steel bull bar, snorkel, but I took the roof bars off. 2016 GX auto with 9000km. Around Outer Sydney with only rare trips into the city about 11 l/100km seems normal [ where the 120 V6 did about 16-17 under the same conditions.]

                          • 3k trip, with 9.7L/100km avg. Driving was mix of 110 and 100 speeds. The fuel consumption sat jut below 10L/100 as per the car dash when doing 110km/h. Speeds below 110 seemed to give much better mileage.

                            • Diesel 3 litre 6 speed manual Prado.
City driving in Darwin, cruising around in 60km, 70km, 80km and occasionally 100 km zones averaging out at 9.4 km/100 litres.

Never floor it, drive like Grandad with fuel economy in mind. Not like Bad Grandad!

                              • Ive never managed lower than 12L/100km going by the gauge and struggle to get 1000km from a tank, vehicles only done 50,000km. Living in the Territory doing a lot of highway driving at 130km/h might have something to do with it or should I be expecting something to wrong? I don't have too heavy a foot.
