Should the fuel filter's be drained? How often?

Hi,

Just wondering if the fuel filter should be drained every now and then as a precaution against water building up? Say 5,000km? I have a pre-filter which can be checked by the clear bowl. If this is clear, should I leave the main filter alone?

You’ll see any water at the bottom of the glass bulb as you’d be aware but I’d not bother draining the fuel filter u less the pre filter is full of water
