  • Exhaust options for a 2014 diesel?

What are the options for exhaust upgrades for a 3 litre 2014 diesel. Does removing the big muffler make a difference? Does a aftermarket system make a noticable difference compared to derestricting the factory system?

Few posts around here on this in some of the remap/ chip threads. I think the consensus it's basically not worth it in isolation- i believe If you were doing major engine modification then it becomes necessary.

      I've done a 3" exhaust through DEA - this kit https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-P...sid=m570.l1313

Sounds good, I think removing the muffler completely would be too droney and loud. With the hot dog you notice the exhaust sound more on acceleration, and doesn't drone too much when on the fwy.
You won't get much (if any) of a performance/economy increase by doing just the exhaust. What you will do though, is if you get a remap/flash/ecu or other upgrade like a turbo it will give you a greater increase.
I did it mostly because it sounds better and I plan on doing a remap and upgraded turbo down the track.
