  • Ultragauge M Gauge help for 2.8 prado (2018)

    Hi all,

I recently purchased an Ultragauge MX and have been working through setting up a few custom gauges for it. I have had success with a few (main tank in L, sub tank in L, Torque converter lock up status), but am struggling with EGT, DPF soot load and Rail pressure.

I know the data is available for them as Scan gauge have their X Gauges ( of some i used and was successful for Trans temp and Torque converter temp), and I have followed the Ultragauge guide for converting them without success.

Has anyone else got these working? Anyone able to share their working ones for EGT, DPF Soot Load and rail pressure or check my programming? Working gauges shared below.

    thanks in advance.

Interesting information. I have a Land cruiser 150, diesel 2.8 D4D 177cv. VXL in Spain. (year 2016) And an ultragauge MX, I'm going to configure my gauge to see if all this information is useful. Very grateful to you. a greeting

Razorback - for instant L/100 calculatiosn follow the standard guide for calibrating fuel economy. I have not yet done it but will shortly. Going to work on some other gauges like Common Rail pressure etc in the next few weeks when I get time.

Personally I am super happy now with the Ultragauge. I love how configurable the displays are -4/6/8 to a page and auto rolling pages with alarms. Love the alarms!

Just got my Ultragauge MX operational for DPF Soot%, DPF Temp and EGTs. All working fine now. Had an issue with DPF temp as Toyota stuck it onto the end of the DPF soot standard gauge which meant that Ultragauge was unable to read the temp part of the returned data. Ultragauge support (Steve??) was great; nailed it on the first pass.

                    DPF Temp Deg C

                    TDATA: 07E00178

TCTRL: 92 (not 82 as expected for a PID with 01 prefix)

                    RCTRL: 10

                    RPOS: 1010

                    MTCH: 210000

Have tried to get Common Rail Pressure operational, but the Scangauge commands (converted to Ultragauge) do not seem to work. At idle, pressure jumps from 1100 to 5000 psi, and a short drive gave no real difference in pressure. Anyone else got this one operational?

L/100km is available directly in the Ultragauges (MX and EM Plus) but this does not even go close to corresponding with the actual value you see on the Toyota dash display. Would be interested to find out if anyone else has this working. Don't have Scangauge or Ultragauge codes for this one.
