Prado Fuel Recall

Not sure if this has been covered yet however have a read. Im a die hard Toyota fan..........but they have seriously dropped the ball. DPF problems, air box problems, outdated technology, class actions and now fuel leak issues? On top of that they just turn a blind eye? Seriously Toyota, pick your game up. My next choice of 4x4 is now offering a 6 year warranty and 7 year capped price servicing with no class action issues.

It's a targeted recall for just 1899 vehicles only.. Not all Prados made. Lets post the facts and not just rants ... As for picking up the game, they have stepped forward an announced this and are making repairs to suit.. Not turning a blind eye at all.. Pretty good game play I'd say. That's what they have had to say.

At no stage did I say it was ALL Prados hence why I posted the link, and 6 months ago there were no reported fuel issues and now there are. If Toyota are not turning a blind eye why is there a class action pending?

please point out what part of my post was not factual.
I was under the impression forums were to discuss info, ideas and thoughts.

im guessing you weren’t one of the people who spent $70k+ on a car only to have it go back to Toyota time and time again for issues.

No please keep posting, especially giving publicity to issues like this one which I for one had not heard about.
Toyota still outsell all the other manufacturers in Australia so you would think that they must be doing something right, but I agree that they appear to turn a blind eye to issues. Not this one perhaps, which could be because replacing a pipe is not going to cost them a fortune and possibly at long last they may have realised that they cannot keep relying on their previously good reputation for ever.
I am sorry to say that a lot of customers putting up with issues and not criticising their favourite brand is part of the problem. Perhaps people do not want to admit even to themselves that they may have made the wrong choice in buying such an expensive vehicle?
I am watching the outcome of the class action with enthusiasm as I am keen to see just how much information Toyota are forced to publish. It will be fascinating to see if we ever get to know when they knew of the DPF problem, what they tried to do about it, what (little?) they told their dealers etc
Finally I urge everyone who has a problem with their Prado to not just put up with it but return to Toyota until you get satisfaction.

I am one of the unlucky buggers that have had multiple things go wrong , and although i am happy with the cars attributes the experience has left me with a bad taste. This was my first ever brand new car and there were plenty of others cheaper i could have gone for. This thing was my hard earned retirement present , I cannot afford a replacement anytime soon and to see the motor in bits on a dealership floor left me very concerned about its long term reliability. It could have been some first year apprentice monkey doing the work who couldnt be bothered using a torque wrench !! I have opened a case with Toyota and will report back once it has been closed out.
