Change fuel filter light

My change fuel filter light cam on and i have replaced the filter however the light has not extinguished - any ideas?

I have tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes but this has not reset the light

Is it the fuel filter light or the water in filter light?

As youve changed it I'd say you have cleaned any water out so:

Unlug the fuel filter plug on the top/side. Start the car and then plug cable back in after a few seconds. Should turn the light off.

according to the info on the visor its the same light, however if its water related it will flash and i didnt have this. I also have a 10micron filter with a water seperator upstream of standard filter.

Just to add to this the filter light came on when i pulled onto the stuart hwy from stopped and gave it full throttle till i hit 130kph. For the past few months i have been babying the care around trying to get better fuel economy and it was probably never had that much fuel flow before.
