  • Turbo blanket questions

Hi I have put this post up in a different area but maybe it was the wrong area anyway
I would like to know what you think of the turbo blanket, is it worth installing? I am thinking of installing one to lower the heat in the engine bay hopefully so my second battery will last longer
Has anyone installed one to their 150 series and if so how was it installed

If you install a turbo blanket, it just means that the heat stays in the turbo rather than radiating out. It's better to replace a second battery a bit more often than to put more heat into the turbo and engine oil. You can get a battery blanket, not sure what difference they make.

The modern turbo engines really don't need a turbo timer, although I'll always allow my engine a minute to cool down after a hard run towing, but that's just an old habit.

I’m looking at getting one myself, just hard to find one that made for that turbo. Definitely good to keep the heat from the turbo inside it and not baking everything else in the engine bay. Other bonus is the more heat kept in gives a faster spool up and slight improvements to overall performance
