EGR Cooler leak

Hi All,

My 2016 2.8l prado appears to be leaking coolant. Toyota couldn't find an external leak and is assuming EGR cooler leaking internally. I see there is a TSB on this so wondering how common this is?

Full cost for dealer to replace the cooler is almost $3k. Does this sound about right?

Try partsouq and amayama for a better price if you have to buy a new one. Not heard of the issue before, but it may be out there.

Thanks. I got a call this morning to say Toyota Australia is going to assist with the cost out of warranty so fingers crossed all is sorted once the replacement is completed. Happy Toyota is looking after me on this one.

Hi did you sort your egr leak and did Toyota assist with warranty and if so did you purchase the vehicle new as I think I have the same issue and purchased second hand?

My Egr cooler leaked, and 2000km after replacement, cracked piston. EGR Coolers kill engines.
