  • DPF - Fifth Injector Clean 1GD FTV 2.8 diesel

    Hi all,

I aim going to clean the fifth injector (as it seems to be recommend) and there are good videos online to show the procedure. Can anyone tell me the torque settings for the bolts that clamp the injector bracket to the main housing and the three nuts/bolts that hold the complete unit onto the exhaust assembly? I can't find that info anywhere... Thank you!

Why? I'd leave it alone. The 5th injector and its housing is covered by Toyota's 10-year DPF warranty on the 2.8 litre motor. If it fails, the whole lot will be replaced, assuming that the Prado wasn't supplied new with the upgraded DPF.

I would agree completely if I lived in Aus! I am in Spain and there is no 10 year warranty... lots of Prado's thou.

Were these what you were after? Info for 2016+ - the only difference I could see for pre-2016 version was union bolt on fuel pipe was only 26 Nm

        NO. 2 NOZZLE HOLDER CLAMP

        T40 TORX 12 Nm

        INJECTOR HOLDER

        10 Nm (2 bolts)

NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

        10 Nm (3 nuts)

        NO. 1 INJECTOR HOLDER

        43 Nm (3 nuts)

        NO. 1 FUEL PIPE

        bolt 10 Nm
        union bolt 36 Nm

Many thanks for the information and apologies for the late reply. I have just removed it as I had the DPF full light. The 5th injector was 100% blocked, so I will now clean it annually as it's a simple job to do.
