  • Prado 150 Injector seals leaking

    G'day Prado Crew,
Just after some advice as it looks like I have oil seeping out around the top of the injectors.
Mentioned it to my local mechanic and he thought it might be from the catch can over pressuring the crank case.
I do have a Provent 200 fitted - they did change the design a little while back taking the valve out the cap and now it's in the filter (apparently so less pollution).
Did keep the old cap so thinking about putting that back on to hopefully help things unless we have trouble elsewhere..

Anyway just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue before??

    Thanks heaps for your help.

When did you last replace the filter in the catch can and have you checked you don't have a crimped hose on the inlet or outlet?

The old style Provent cap when the filter was blocked vented to atmosphere, while the new one under same conditions has a flap on the base of the filter that bypasses the element and puts the crankcase gasses straight through to the turbo outlet (so I don't think just changing the cap back to old one will sort your crankcase pressure issue)

      Thanks for the reply ptommo59,

All good with the filter changes done on regular intervals or when required.
Checked hoses no crimps and all looks good.

Thanks for the info on the Provent cap I wasn't real sure how that worked..

I'm not sure this issue has been caused by the catch can just seems odd to have oil coming up around where the injectors go in.
The Prado is still running fine and I noticed a bit of oil there a while back but just trying to figure out why it's there and if anyone else has come across it..

Thanks heaps once again for your help.
