Had a twin system exhaust fitted last week. Better exhaust note, and its definately breathing better and feels a little quicker.

Hey Kakadaz, An an exhaust shop specializing in motorsport in Melb did it for me. They were keen to do a custom cold air intake for me as well, and I was keen but a bit hesitant so I put that off for now. I'd be more comfortable if there was a TRD one off the shelf or at least something that been tested.

I want to get a chip as well. I'd like to know who did Ellwoods.

I had a new system installed last week and it was quite droney and loud but since doing a few k's its bedding in nicely and developing a nice note and quieting down...

Kakadaz mine has improved over the past week or so as well. Maybe the engine getting used to being able to breath better or something? Post a vid of yours if you can. Would love to hear Ellwood's as he's got the chip as well.

Thanks for the audio that's great in a former life I had a 4.2lt GQ Pootrol ported and polished head, carny jetted, slight cam, headers and a nice system sounded fantastic and I could get all the wheels to light ip in 4WD

When I had my exhaust system replaced on the Prado, it was explained by the installer that the computer takes up to 500 kms to adapt to the new exhaust: air intake, less back pressure on exhaust, etc.

Mine has now travelled about 3,000 kms since fitting. More response on country roads, and towing the van. Some of the bigger hills on the Hume Highway around Gundagai and Goulburn still require 3rd gear (auto) with the van, but some of the other hills will tow along in 4th, whereas before would require 3rd.

Loaded van would be nearing 2.5 t, on a flat road can cruise at 100 k/m with ease.

I like the sound of mine at idle and full open throttle....It has no drone cruising at 100kph etc BUT between 2000 and 2700 Rpm has a nasty farting sound that drones through the car whilst accelerating and unfortunately thats where most general driving and where it drops to when it changes gear...I will but a vid up.

I like the sound of mine at idle and full open throttle....It has no drone cruising at 100kph etc BUT between 2000 and 2700 Rpm has a nasty farting sound that drones through the car whilst accelerating and unfortunately thats where most general driving and where it drops to when it changes gear...I will but a vid up.

Nothing worse than nasty farting noises (and smells) in the car

Hey Kakadaz, looking forward to hearing your videos/sound. It sounds like from what others are saying things will continue to change with the exhaust as the engine gets used to it si hopefully both of ours get better and better over time!!

Mine has done about 800ks since the zorst was done. So far I still like the sound everywhere except about 2000 to 2700rpm it's a bit droney/hummy/digerydooey. Unfortunatly there is not much I can do to quieten just that rpm range. I have recorded some sound using my contour camera stuck on the back door so will post up tomorrow.
