Guys just some food for thought, if u r changing between fuels u will need to run 2-3 tanks before u may see any change.
hey guys,
i have just run 3 tanks on 95 and the fuel consumption hasn't really changed - still averaging 12.5L/100. considering it costs 12c more, i will continue to run e10.
louie
I have fond the same, i just run the e10 BP, seems better than shell e10 from an economy perspective.

Everyone got faith in the long term reliability using E10?
Might have to give it another go the way fuel prices are going.
Notice any performance differences between the fuels? I run 95 all the time at the moment.
The little E10 sticker inside the flap is good enough for me, performance wise no noteable difference. However when I went from shell to BP I did notice power and consumption was better.

We used premium for a year without noticing any difference. Had the fuel system serviced & the difference now is so noticable, we only use premium. With a full tank of premium vs E10 there is a difference of 200km travelled. Never use e10 in 2 x stroke, outboards or motorbikes, (or Prados). The guy who performed the service suggested 91 was a dirty fuel.

4 yesrs using E10 and 90k later still all good, our other car has done 120k on BP E10. We put injector cleaner in every service as well.

The simple answer is, just use the fuel that the manufacturer recommends, if the log book says 91 octaine then use it, if it says 91 or higher or states 95 or 98 , then use 91 ,95 or 98.
An engine that is designed to run on 91 octaine, will not perform any better if you use a higher octaine fuel.
If the manufacturer says you can use E10 or higher, by all means use it, as most are 95 octaine and higher.

Standard unleaded is RON 91 yes? My book says to use RON 95 or higher but my old 90 ran fine on 91. I've just filled up for the 1st time since taking delivery of the 150 and used 91 from Shell without thinking (had an 18c/L off docket from Coles). I'm assuming it's not going to do anything horrible to the engine, seemed to run fine on the drive home today.
I have always used 91 and a lot times E10 with no issues on this car or the last one, some guys claim better economy on higher octane but I can't get the extra cost to balance out the extra economy.

I'm of the same opinion, especially when fuel dockets like the 18c/L off ones come up. I have never asked but I'm pretty sure they don't apply to Premium Unleaded.

i'm pretty sure the prado has knock sensors so the 91 shouldn't hurt it.
91 e10 is equivalent to 95 anyway
