  • Removing trim in rear cargo area

Hi guys, going to try and remove the trim on the drivers side of the rear cargo area on the weekend to remedy an annoying rattle. Anyone done this before?

I have the diagram from Toyota showing the locations of the clips, claws, bolts, screws but it'd be good if anyone who's done this to lend me a few tips.

I undid the screw at the rear end of it last night and was able to pull the first two top 'claws' off but I'm not sure how to remove the 'clips' when I come to them. Do I need a special tool or do they just pull out too?

    Cheers, Sam.

Re: Removing trim in rear cargo area

    Hi Sam,
I had to take the passenger side rear cargo panel off (partially) to install the tow bar wiring harness. My advise would be a lot of gentle pressure. I didn't use any special tools. Everything just clipped right on back once I was done.

    Cheers

Re: Removing trim in rear cargo area

The GXL's have different panels in the rear to my GX so this info might not apply, but in the GX there is another bolt where the second row seat belts bolt in. You need to remove this bolt to completely remove the rear panel.

Do you have to the remove the rear seat to get those panels off?
